USM MEDICINE interview 2014

Well went to USM two years ago. so kinda familiar with there.
going again this year due to the interview.
Well i got the medic interview.

for your information, different courses got different date for the interview. so no worries okay! :)


I had my medicine interview in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan.
and for your information, there are three campus for USM.

Main Campus 

- Arts, Pharmacy, Humanity, Social, Language, Computer Sciences & others(all except Engineering& Health)
- Univeristy Sains Malaysia, 11800 USM, Minden, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia.

Health Campus 

- Health, Medical and Dental Sciences

- Pusat Pengajian Sains Perubatan, USM, Kampus Kesihatan, Kubang Kerian, Kelantan, Malaysia.

Engineering Campus

- Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, E&E, Material & Mineral Resources Engineering

- Seri Ampangan, Nibong Tebal, 14300 Pulau Pinang, Malaysia 

I went there by car. and stayed in Renaissance Hotel in Kota Bharu located in Kota Sri Mutiara, Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra ,Kota Bharu  15150  Malaysia.

well before starting your journey, please make sure you prepare all this certificates and examination transcripts! must be ORIGINAL.

1. PSPM 1 cert

2. MUET slip

3. SPM cert

4. Curriculum certs (my opinion is bring all of them)

5. Printed interview slip
6. I also prepared a resume that summarized my post, achievements and recognition.

It is alright for you to go in formal clothing but if you have a baju kurung, just wear it. *FIRST IMPRESSION MA*

It is vital that you prepare some questions about your preferred choice of course.

*During the interview, the people in charge will place you outside anyone of the room. so u just wait for your turn. btw we waited for about 40mins then only realise the are no interviewer for our room == , so I re-queue and waited another 30mins to reach my turn.*

Here are some of the questions the interviewer asked me.
*they asked me in English so i answer in English too* 

1. INTRODUCE YOURSELF

2. HOW MANY SIBLINGS I HAVE (WHAT MY BRO STUDYING AND BLABLA)

3. MY CURRICULUM ACTIVITIES

4. Why do you want to be a doctor?

5. Why USM?

6. Which field of study in medicine you would want to specialize in? 

and then I had been given a scenario.

*this was in Malay language*

something like : PEPERIKSAAN SEMESTER SEMAKIN DEKAT, RAKAN KAMU INGIN BALIK KE RUMAH UNTUK MENGHADIRI MAJLIS IJAZAH KAKAKNYA. APA YANG HARUS ANDA LAKUKAN?

 so you just need to express your opinion and what you are going to do.

and then my interview ENDED smoothly lol...

ANYWAY SOME TIPS FOR THE INTERVIEW,

1. MAKE SURE YOU PRACTISE HOW TO SMILE. SMILE SINCERELY INSTEAD OF FAKING THE SMILE. *look at the mirror when you are practising*

2. PREPARE YOUR ANSWER. PREPARE THEM PROPERLY TO AVOID ANY INCIDENT OKAY? 

3. MAKE SURE YOU KNOCK BEFORE YOU ENTER THE ROOM. *some people didn't knock and end up being warning by the interviewers. hey they asked the interviewee walked back and knocked again okay -.-*

4. GREAT THEM WITH A SMILE AND WALK TO THEIR PLACES TO HAVE A HAND SHAKE.

5. ASK THEM WHETHER YOU CAN HAVE YOUR SEAT OR NOT *sit properly*

6. ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS WITH A SMILE ON YOUR PLACE.

7. HAD A HAND SHAKE AGAIN AND SAY THANKS FOR GIVING ME THIS OPPORTUNITY AND BLABLA

that's what I did for my interview haha == u may ignore if u find it useless :)

I think the questions given by the two interviewer (both female) wasn't hard. 

but i heard from others that theirs' interviews were kinda tension because the interviewer asked many difficult questions. SO BRACE YOURSELF FOR SOMETHING LIKE "the academic system like in USM?"  ," The syllabus/ topics that you know you will be learning in this course?" ,"some of your activities and achievements that are related to this course?", and ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC . 

• Please find all you need about USM from the prospectus they handed out during the education fair in your matriculation centre. Or you can visit their official site http://www.usm.my/ .
•  Update yourself with some general knowledge for recent medical updates too.

BRACE YOURSELF!!!!!!! AND ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!

trying so hard not to show any weak side for people to see and tease but i just seriously hate this world

FINISHED. PERAK MATRICULATION COLLEGE

well got into perak matriculation college one year ago and had finished the program one months ago haha

awesome year. I  learned a lot of things from there.

you learn how to socialize, how to tolerate, how to help each other, how to find out the truth, how to blablabla

This is the year that i gone through all those stuffs bravely and independently,

but i don't really like this year.

people changed due to the environments. and you WILL SEE THE TRUE COLOUR OF A PERSON *like the true true colour!!!!*. 

how they fight for koko marks, how they back-stabbed their friends, how they cursed people.

but there were awesome people tooo!! how they tolerate with you, how they teach you, how they lend you a helping hand.

anyway i did some mistakes too but i learned from it :D 

For all those people i met there (no matter good or bad), THANK YOU.

the first month will be kinda tough and you need to attend a lot of ceramah :/ just bear with them.
